Help with shimano groupset road/mtb comparision...

Hi

Being new to the road world and more familiar with MTB groupsets I was hoping someone would be able to help me compare the hierarchy order of road bikes and what the mtb equivalent would be...

Road MTB

Sora Deore?
Tiagra LX?
105 SLX?
Ultegra XT?
Dura ace XTR?

Have I got this right?

That's a pretty fair comparison. I would say that Tiagra is the same as Deore though. Sora is a bit more compromised and more like Acera or similar.

You yet to mention, that there's claris also in the roadie gruppos, and there are loads of groups below deore (alivio-acera-altus-tourney)

Deore usually considered as a mid-level group, or lower-mid class, so I'd pair it with Tiagra : )
