A I know absolutely nothing about Pace forks, I was hoping that someone can identify these for me.
Probably about 94/95 and seem to have about 50mm of travel.

Also any service information (or links to the same) would be really appreciated.

Cheers,

Andy.

They are RC35 Monobox, hard to tell which model (MX/MXCD) though without opening them up!

Drop a PM to 'Justbackdated' - he services Pace forks and is very good!

That's excellent - thank you very much for that !

At least I know what I'm dealing with now..

Many thanks,

Andy.

Was there:

1. MX

2. MXC

3. MXCD

?

I've just got hold of a pair, think they are MXC's (if there was such a pair!) but the decals are missing in places, like Andy R's

They went to RC36 Pro Class in 1996 after MXCD IRC :? (gold stanchions, carbon braces), then onto the EVO's

Justbackdated will correct all the (inevitable) mistakes about wot I just wrote

Gold stanchion'd carbon braced Proclass RC36 forks were 97/98 (well mine are 98 AFAIK)

was the MXC shorter travel than the MXCD? i seem to recall it was and that the MXCD felt a bit "noodly" cos it was longer than the design could really take

Your forks are either 1996 RC35 MXC's or RC35 MXCD's
the difference is the MXCD has the damping cartridge. The MXC bit refers to the crown which is the hollow machined one with removable end caps that clamp the legs.

The forks leaning against the bike in the photo are the same.

The RC36 (below on the bike) has a monoblock crown which is the easiest difference to spot.

The ones on the bike with the Ti nitride sliders and carbon braces are RC36 Proclass evo's from 1998. The year after they changed to the second generation RC36 with parallel sided legs instead of the sexy tapered ones.
