Help with date

I won this on ebay and was wondering if anyone could help me with finding out what year it was made.

I'm stoked with it even though its not in my grubby hands yet, my good friend mrlee picked it up for me and I'm picking it up next week.

Most of the bike looks to be original except the obvious, I thought it was about 1985-6 but looking at the pics mrlee sent I think it maybe a bit earlier.

Thanks in advance for any help and I will put it in the Saracen thread when I get my hands on it.

Now thats a very nice bike indeed its got to be around 85/86 I did toy with the idea of having a pop on this one but I am happy to admit I have plenty of old stuff and am running out of space at the bike home

I'm not sure which way to go with the bars and stem, bullmoose or riser and twin clamp.

You any thoughts on what year GM ?

Not sure but I think this bike may be a 1985 model as was named Kili Flyer after the Crane`s went up Kilimanjaro on a couple of earlier Saracen Conquest`s.

well, its very similar to mine which is around 1984/5 and the model below yours. Mine has the same Tange Levin headset and the clamp is an SR MT-1000 for 22.2mm bars. Rare as rocking horse poo though.

I could probably source some Nitto bullmoose bars if you ask me nicely.

Mine also has the same Diacompe levers and cantis.

I would say 84 / 85 I have had a quick browse through the 60 odd pages of early saracen thread and stumbled on this interesting one
