Hi - I had found a affordable Mapei Colnago C40 incl. a 1 Inch Colnago Star forks. 
Now I intent to build it up with a Shimano DA 7700 Group.
Within this Group I want to use a HP-7410 (it's so beautiful) but it is only foreseen for 1 inch threaded forks an quill stems. The Star has a shaft of carbon so I have to use a Ahead stem i.e. ITM ergo light. What can I do? Is it enough to mill out the thread and fix the Headset direct with the stem? Or is there any other alternative, like a PRO Headset - but I want not use a Chris King for this Project. An other idea is to switch to a black Precisa like some riders did it at P-R in 1999.
Is there someone, who knows which kind of headset had the Pros of Mapei-Team had used together with the C40 with carbon forks?
