Help needed: Sachs Huret Commander 2x6 rear hub

Retro Guru
I have been asked to renovate a family member's bike - a 30 year-old SCO (Danish brand) with Sachs Huret Commander 2x6 rear hub. This has a 6-speed freewheel, with a 2-speed internal hub gear, and indexing (long before Shimano SIS).

I can't find much information about this system, but it needs an overhaul. Does anyone have a manual in English (or Danish) or any knowledge regarding how it is set-up? The cable for the rear mech looks complex (there is a pulley underneath the mech!).

Thanks.

Re:

Hello,

the ever helpful Disraeligears has what you're looking for. There's a manual in the documents section here.

You've actually piqued my interest.
Do you know of any danish enthusiast's site with some more in depth information on SCO?

Thanks for the link - I looked on DisraeliGears but missed that.

Regarding SCO,I don't know of any such websites, but there is some info on the company here https://www.scocykler.dk/historie (Danish only I'm afraid).

Their bikes carry the slogan 'verdensmestercyklen' (the world champion bike), after they provided the bike for a world champion in the 70s. Even the bike I am working on, says it on the top tube! Not bad for an ironmongery in Odense, that branched out into bike manufacture as a sideline.

These days though, you are far more likely to see one of their city bikes, cargo bikes, or budget single speeds, than a racing bike (though they still make them). They are a very popular brand here.
