Help needed on what chainring I can use/will fit

Hi - I need some retro help! I'm looking to run a single 38t chainring on my crank with an 8 speed cassette/chain (pg850) but not sure what to go for or what will fit...

My cranks are an old pair of m900 xtrs - what will fit? Any recommendations?

you need a 110mm BCD chainring.

5 bolt, obviously

Great thanks - will a road one work or does it have to be a specific mtb chainring?

110 BCD is the same as road compact, but i'm not sure if they fit mtb cranks
