Hay Ho!

I am thinking of buying a Schwinn cruiser circa 1960s. I will be displaying it on my roofrack on my old vw at shows. My car has some patina so i would need the bike to be unristored.

I have been going round in circles all morning trying to find anything suitable. Do any of you know the best place to look?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,Al

No its a type 3 notch with 60s paint in seablue!

I think you have two pairs of hands. Nobody types that quickly surely!

Cheers,Al

That is pretty darned quick  , normally takes me five minutes to think of a reply and another four or five to type it out :D

Sounds like a nice car, not a huge fan of Beetles but i like Type 3's :D

Well thats what i is looking for! Thanks.

To be honest the only reason i seached this site out was to see if people would bye my old mtb collection! So i could fund my car hobby.

But now i have sold all my old frames off to people all over the planet.
i have become interested in old school bikes again. Aint that the way!

Oh yes type 3s get under your skin like mtbs, so dont do it kids.

I am driving the notch to the volksworld show next weekend. Its in the type 3/4 line up. The only problem being the show is in london and i live a few miles from lands end. Thats not too bad, but the car has a new engine and carbs and i havent had time to do a shake down! People are now taking bets on me arriving on a low loader. Mates aye!

Cheers,Al

this one is on firstflight's site for sale, I would have it if I had room... you even get disc brakes :) only $450 ...plus post and import.

1940's Shelby Klunker replica: Very cool 1940's era Shelby bike that has been converted to a Klunker. This bike is a neat combination of new and old. Original frame with old style bars and leather sprung saddle. Wheels are newly built with NOS 1978 Shimano disc brakes front and rear with Michelin tires. Currently, this bike is in older gray primer but we could take it to the local powder coater and have it sprayed your choice of colors (additional charges would apply) As she sits, we are asking $450 Click on link to the left for pictures.

I found something suitable on the Bay not long ago, it was an 80's beach cruiser, turned out be a Fujiyama, which I believe was something to do with Fuji (as in tubing) but cant be sure... It looks V Klunker-esque - nice retrotec-ish swoopy frame, 3 piece crank, chainguard, ape hangers, coaster brake, BMX fork, 26" whitewall Baloon tyres eyc. It also had a very cool little sticker which was a Bicycle License number from 1983 for Honolulu. Its all black with nice Patina'd paintwork and some dull chrome. I stuck some Hot Pink Mushroom grips and a Hot pink Turbo saddle on and it looks pretty cool now... and wasnt expensive all in...

its not for sale, but it just goes to show that stuff is out there...

There you go, reel me in like a big fish. Then chuck me back in like a tiddler! :D

Thanks for the info, Cheers,Al
