Help identifying Marin with unusual frame number. Pic's added

Hello, I recently was given a Marin mountain bike frame with a stuck Seatpost. I was told it was from 1992, but not sure. I have had a look at several things on here but cannot seem too de-code the frame number, it is M02ISO601. Your help would be much appreciated.

The M is the factory.

M is Marvel, F is Fairly and T is Ti sports

7 is the model number. Exclude the Ti bikes and work down the list eg.

1 Team Issue
2 Team Marin
3 Pine Mountain
4 Eldridge grade
5 Bear Valley
6 Muirwoods
7 Palisades Trail
8 Bobcat Trail

4 is the year ending number. That would be 1994.

HA is month and date, but you will need the Enigma machine to decode these. Not really relevant either!

B is the size centre to centre.

A is 14 inches
B is 15.5 inches ( this makes it 17 centre to top)
C is 17 inches
D is 19 inches
E is 20 inches

182 are production numbers that are factory use only, and again require the Enigma machine.

So looking at that your frame number seems to make sense only in terms of the model year!

Yeah, I had seen this but my numbers don't fit the formula?

A 1992 Team Marin?

They're the 1994 formula, other years varied.

The frame is day glo green (like Team Marin in 1992 catalouge), not yellow as the pictures show.

Looks like a 1992 Muirwoods to me.

Edit: Just noticed you say not yellow - Palisades then?

Think the tubing sticker would say Prestige if it was a Team? Catalogue mentions external ribbing on the down tube too on the team - worth a check.

Possibly, but the down tube has a diameter of 37.5, in the catalougue it says 35mm down tube for Palisades and Muirwoods?

What's the seatpost diameter?
