Help ID old reynolds?

Excellent, I've been all over the web looking for answers, I'll look for an image so I can make some decals, let you know, cheers

Holdsworth - with a full Galli groupset? Possibly more likely to come from the Frank Clements stable as he was the Galli importer (JHF agencies).

Looks like an Holdsworth Elan! has prugnat lugs & colour is very similar, not sure about the BB and shimano rear dropout? however I am happy to put Holdsworth Elan decals on the old girl, unless you's gurus can shed any other light?

It looks nothing like an Elan, the lugs are completely different and the colour is way off. Also your frame has 531 tubes throughout whereas the Elan was 531 main tubes and forks but with some other tubing for the chain stays and seat stays. That makes it a better quality frame as far as materials go.

Better not to put decals on it rather than just put any old thing on.

Mystery Frameset.

We do get worked up :) .

It has a number of Holdsworth features, I used to visit their workshops on the odd occasion as I did not live far BITD, a member of my family worked there (my 1978 Mistral was purchased new direct from the factory it has some non-catalogued features) - I also know the guy who ran their paintshop.

The fork crown is typical, and so is the BB and seat lug, the head lugs are not untypical.

Holdsworth supplied frames as well as bikes and their frames could be ordered in any colour and to any spec (within reason). Holdsworth also provided framesets to the trade, and not only in the London area. So many frames out there with"A.N Other"transfers on are often Holdsworths in disguise.

And for the record, I have not said unequivocally that it is a Holdsworth.

Yep, sorry about that. Mr. Grumpy isn't getting the miles in this week!

FWIW I didn't say it wasn't a Holdsworth, I bow to your greater knowledge on that RK, but it's not an Elan as far as I can make out. I was very keen on the Elan back then but plumped for a Raleigh Competition instead as it had 531 throughout.

I've been on a few local Australian sites asking the same question, I've had all sorts of comments from it has nervex BB, it could be Japanese, Dutch or Aussi. I'll go round in circles soon, will I every find out? I would like to say its from our motherland. I'll make decals myself, they will be OK but not perfect, and I'll never claim decals are original, but best guess. Any final calls? shes awaiting!

The BB doesn't look like Nervex - if it was it would be cast into the bracket.

I'd go for Holdsworth, you're not trying to decieve anyone. The only query(?) I have are the Shimano dropouts.

What we haven't discussed is frame number? If you cannot read the number look on the steerer - might help.

P.S Mark, I was being playful bro 8) .
