same as mine, it was built in 1994, but its sporting 1996 decals, so its a 1996 RTS 1

I wondered about this with mine. Anyone know if GT used to stockpile a lot of frames. My Zaskar has Aug 93 frame no but has 95 decals.
They are definitely original and not repro so I assume the framewas in the warehouse for a while.

No those frames were never in a warehouse for "awhile". The frames had obviously been redecaled. Those frames were serial number stamped when completed and had components hanging on them or were out the door as frame sets within four months max after the serial numbers were on them.

2 of the 3 I have owned were cracked on purchase, none were purple nor 94. Maybe just bad luck

I think the OP has buggered off  , last post september (this thread), would have fancied it if he was selling as it's my size, no point in PM'ing him

Haven't buggered off, just been back at uni - budget has afforded few opportunities to work on this, other projects have taken priority! Shan't be selling the frame though, looking forward to building it up come summer!

What's the solution to play in the rear wheel, mine's getting worse, I've used it too much  . I've already fitted the bearing kit from gold tech installed in the 'seat stay section' however it's the bolts are moving in the chainstay's causing the play.
