Help getting fit bike riding

Feel old lol, yeah I have to sort clothes out as loads that don't fit. Bit may keep some as goal to fit back into them .

I am boxing up my last bike now, as swaping my bike for a full suspension bike. And then getting a hardtail of someone on here. Then will get out there riding again. Going Disney next week so when I get back want to get two bikes sorted then start sorting myself out.

Stop prevaricating and ride.

Age and equipment are no excuse, you seem to have/had a number of perfectly rideable bikes since you joined the forum, just put your arse on one and start pedalling!

relax fella, I am sure Tallpaul just meant you need to start sometime so why not now? Most of us are bad about it, but nearly all of us could fit 30-45 minutes exercise per day into our busy schedules and it is only laziness that means we don't.

Start today, go for a run, get sweaty, feel crap, feel better after it, do it again tomorrow. Do press ups and planks while you are away in Disney (run up and down the stairs in the hotel 10 times) - just get started matey!

From your post above, your goals are a bit woolly and you should have a think about what you want to achieve. For some people, a light goes on in their heads and they say to themselves 'crap, age is no excuse, Lance Armstrong can compete in the TdF at 37, the least I can do is lose my spare tyre and go for a run'.

Just do it.

Ok cool I sm just finishing boxing up bike then will go for a jog before getting kids.

Sorry for upsetting some people. Thanks for tips. If any of you are on Devon area have to meet up for a ride.

You've not upset any one. I am sure there was no malice in Tall Pauls post, it was merely a motivational kick up the proverbial. We all sit here talking a lot of bike, reading a lot of bike, buying a lot of bike...but sometimes you just need to take what you have and get on with it.

I think you must of had nearly as many bikes as I currently own since you joined the forum, but seem to not stick with any of them. It may be worth settling with one and persevering with it for a bit, until you get used to it again, then consider getting a new bike if & when you need it.

Yeah I have been guilty there, these next two are staying with me now for good. I will get the two bikes and then de register and leave you guys in peace.
