Help chossing a rigid fork for a C´dale F2000

Hey!

I just grabbed a `97 (?) or 98 (?) Cannondale F2000 and want to install a rigid fork on it. Don´t know anything about bike´s geometry and stuff... Can anyone give me some advice and help me to choose? I like Pace forks, and Salsa too.

I attach a picture of the bike. Don`t blame me for that handlebar! It´s previous owner´s crime!

Thank you so much!

Re:

I wouldn't touch the Pace or Salsa forks in this case I'd go for one of Cannondales own forks P-Bone or some thing like that to match the over sized frame tubes.

Re:

Hey!
Thank you... But P-bone was a suspension fork, wasn't it? I don't like Pepperonis aesthetically but yes, there's a problem with the steerer's diameter...

Re:

My mistake I just went and checked my Caad3 and its fitted with 1&1/8" headset I thought it was 1&1/2" (too many bikes). Although you could use reducers to give you more scope for other non-Dale forks which any of the forks you mentioned would in fact need. I've just remember one other non-Dale fork that would look OK its GT's ???? Can't remember the model name right now and to make things worse I've got a pair (I'll get back to you on that one)

Just rememberd GT Bologna Lite (I think) I'll try and find mines and take a pic if you like.

The F2000 frame was built around the headshock. You could reduce the headtube with specific shims but the geometry of the frame doesn't follow. It's a bad idea in my opinion.
Finding or reparing your headshock is the best idea and perhaps, the less expensive solution...

Hey!

Thank you RobMac & 24pouces! I´ll try to service the actual Fatty SL fork but I`d prefer a rigid fork or a suspension fork with lockout...

Cheers!

P-Bone would have been my suggestion also.
