help - carbon bars!

Not strictly retro but...would anyone happen to know if using GT85 to stick my yeti grips on my flat carbon bars is ok?

Does it weaken the carbon in anyway?

any advice would be appreciated.

 I wouldn't and don't on my USE carbon bars. Just plain ol spit does the job. Why use some thing like GT85?

DON'T do it. Carbon fibre is also used to make expensive fly rods. If the sections get stuck together the one thing never to do is use WD40 (or anything similar) to attempt to separate them. It generally converts an expensive two piece rod into a worthless one piece! Try an air hose if all else fails.

GT85 is a lubricant :? , best thing i've found is spray paint, sticks them on solid in seconds  , any kind will do though clear laquer would be the least messy, but i used silver car wheel paint on the grips on my GT and it did'nt make a mess, spray a bit into the grip and push it onto the bar.

I use an automotive trim adhesive, sticks like shit to a blanket in seconds, smells good too- brings out the little people who laugh a lot :? To remove the grips just roll them back. It also keeps the water out. I have used it on my retro Madison carbon bars without problem too.
