Here is my Dave Lloyd that I recently acquired. I've added a new seatpost and Charge saddle as it came without either.

My question is: can anyone please attempt to date the bike?

It's full Campagnolo throughout with Cinelli bars and stem.

Framing is 531 with 753 forks

Thanks :D

Possibly 80's but, if you've got a frame number, you could contact the man himself?

Looks a bit like one of his earlier creations - if, in fact, he did build them.

It's very nice, I like it!

It's not a 70's bike, or if it is it's a late 70's, as the brake bolt / nut is recessed.........which arrived in the 80's.

Nice steed :D

Thanks for the thoughts. Where abouts would I be looking to find the frame number?

My initial instinct was early 80's. I'd like to find out as much about the bike as possible though.

Not sure where the frame number would be.......Dave Lloyd in the 1970's was a bit of a mixed bag.

Seemed to produce some very nice frames but then had a bit of a "pile 'em high and sell them cheap" section such as the "Lloydy's Echelon" which was a ready built bike down to a budget and so not sure where the frame would have come from ........

As mentioned, the components put it in the early 80's in my mind.

Cheers

Just noticed, 531 frame, 753 forks? According to the transfers anyway. I've got a 'Cycling' somewhere with a feature on Dave getting his 753 'builders licence', I'll have to look it up and check the date.

Brilliant, thanks.

I'll look forward to the news. I'm on a hunt for the frame currently.

Didn't Campag stamp the year of manufacture on the top of the rear mech for the Campag Nuovo /super record of that era which might help.?

Old Ned.........Didn't they sometimes build them with 753 stays and forks ? I'm sure I came across a few frames built that way :)

Unfortunately no sign of date stamping on the rear mech. Also still searching for the frame number, no luck yet.
