Hey all,
I have been mountain biking since 1993, and love it! My first mountain bike, which I and friends still ride, is a 1991 GT Talera/All Terra. It is white with grey squiggly lines :?: Not one of the most expensive/lightest bikes around, but it is solid and has treated me right through the years!
I recently upgraded to a full suspension 2003 Giant VT-One. I love this bike, even though the frame size (XL) is waaaay to large me! This bike takes whatever I throw its way, on or off the road!
I have a few projects I am working on. The first, is my 1985/86 Mountain Klein. It has the original Shimano 600 Headset and Cro-Mo fork. The derailluer cables are internally routed through the square chainstay. The rear brake is a Suntour XC-Power Cunningham Design Roller Cam, I believe
I was planning to build it up with an XC-Comp group. This is my first project, so I am very open to any suggestions!
My other project is my 1992 Klein Rascal, which I obtained from here!
I was originally planning on an XT group, which I have, but now I am considering a Campy build. So anyone who has any Campy Euclid or Record-OR parts/group they are willing to part with, please let me know.
I also have a 1984 Fuso, by Dave Moulton. I am trying to piece it back to an all Campy build. It currently has all Campy, except for the Shifters, Derailluer, and cassette, which are Dura-Ace. I have the Campy Super Record Shifters and Campy Pat. 1984 Derailluer replacement, just need the rear Campy Cassette. It has Suntour Superbe brakes, and am considering replacing these as well, but...
Well I am glad I stumbled across this site, it is wonderful and full of great information and insight, especially for a newbie like myself. Again, if anyone has any suggestions or tips, please feel free to share.
