BTW, the reason the shopping mall shootout in Heat has such an air of realism is because Andy McNab was the weapons advisor. Apparently Michael Mann had just read Bravo Two Zero and decided to hire him. True story .

if people like some of the above then check out Nikita, the original film version by Luc Besson (subtitled thou but not the awful remake), made pre Leon but could see ideas forming, also the Departed (and the original infernal affairs) or older films try Once upon a time in the west directed by Sergio Leone.
