headshok delta v 2000 help needed

Retro Newbie
hi guys
i recently got a delta v 2000
problem with the bike is the headshok it needs some work
i found this site: http://www.fastglass.net/bike/headshok/repair.html
but that is not my model, mine is i think the earliest type.the one with the airvent sticking out about 3cm
i started to unscrew the topcap and at first i could even loosen it by hand but when it's almost out it tightens up so much that it feels like there is still very much tension in the fork(all air is out)and i'm afraid to try to unscrew it further(especially with the WARNING high pressure sticker on it) cause i don't want a ''rocket'' in my shed.

my question is :does anybody still have some detailed drawing of the inner of the headshok? so i know a little what to expect

hi mate
thx for the info but the problrem is that i live in holland
and because i used to be a car mechanic i think i can do it myself
i just need some more details if the inner working of the early types

isn't there anybody out there who has something for me? :(

Are these links any help?

http://sheldonbrown.com/cannondale-headshok/index.html

http://www.fastglass.net/bike/headshok/manuals/

The 2nd one is the manual index of link you posted.

I'm sure I've found others, I'll have a look and post them up later today or tomorrow. Cannondale for some reason removed most of the info from the technical part of their site, there are some technical supplements that could give you a clue, at least you have the knowledge base of being a car mechanic to rely on. I was the same, I knew I could do it, it was just not knowing exactly how Cannondale would strip and rebuild a Headshok fork that worried me a bit. Getting a hold of the special tools to do the strip and rebuild is also a problem, although they can be made as in the first link.

Some of the tools needed here,
http://cdn.cannondale.com/Manuals/2005_ ... ons_en.pdf

the problem with headshocks are the specific tools, if you don't have the correct tools you definitely will damage something on removal (i used to work at a cannondale dealer) also buying the tools is just not cost effective for personal use.

i'm not doubting your skill as a mechanic but these things are very specific in which order they have to come apart. i'm happy to do most things but headshocks are a sod.

also i would in your position contact cannondale themselves as they have their european distributor in holland.
