If you needed a decent headset but the build didn't warrant Chris King money, where would you spend your dollar??

Cane Creek, Ritchey, FSA, Syncros... none of those??

I've had good results with Tioga.

But TBH Hope headsets actually work out as very good value, as they last so well. You just have to think long term.

fsa havent let me down yet...look nice and not too expensive....hope are a decent midrange headset too

True. Even low price can last for years. :D (depending your riding style) Just don't over tighten them

Was looking at CRC and for under £25 can get the FSA Xtreme (apparently their top h/set)..

Seems a few options.. just don't want to be buying garbage and I've never messed with headsets before..

Getting a general good vibe about Ritchey stuff.. seem to be generally well received/reviewed...

But, if I was going to £35, it's just a small jump to the £40 for the FSA Orbit MX and the white headset that I've been lusting after for a bit.

I have a couple of weeks to ponder.. ;)

You can get the Ritchey WCS for less than that at £25 or maybe a touch less.
Try AllTerrainSports or MerlinCycles.

I assume many of the lower priced high end ones one's are probably OEM versions.

Advantage I find to the Ritchey is is just sits there and doesn't glare out at you, doesn't look large or out of place on a steel retrobike.

Problem I see with the Orbit MX headset is to get the white you are paying for it over the black version. It's a lot to pay for a colour
Coloured = £40 at Merlin delivered
Black = £28 at Merlin delivered
Scratch that On-One have 'em (white) for £25 delivered

£22.50 at Merlin with free delivery...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think we may have a winner 8)

Well... unless I change my mind (again) in the next week or 2 - it's not unheard of :?
