Headset spacers?

Hi

I'm building a 1993 Orange Clockwork which came with a set of forks, I had a Shimano XT headset which I have fitted although this was not from the Orange.

What would be the done thing to do here, there's about 25mm of thread showing, would I add 10mm of spacers and cut off the rest or not add any spacers and remove the excess threads sticking out?

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you want to go for the authentic look, no spacer, if you want to gain a little more height on the front end add the 10mm spacer.

Thanks for the reply, took the plunge and got the hacksaw out.

When you cut it, screw the top race on, so when you have cut it you can unscrew it and clean the threads.
