sure, its cool. but i used a clamp ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clamp_(tool) ) for the last headset i mounted and honestly don't see any reason for using anything expensive.
if you put the headset cups in the fridge and grease them properly before mounting its a no-brainer anyway.

not sure I'd grease headset cups - couldn't this lead to more movement than is desired in something that is an interference fit?
