Headset HELP!!! - (non-retro content)

Not wanting to insult you, is it definetly play in the headset, not the fork? Which fork is it? I know me old Fox Vanillas were a nightmare for checking the headset as the fork was so responsive/supple. The only way to confirm it was to hold the top and bottom cups as you checked the headset to see if you could feel any play

this is one area that improved in mountain biking...none of that measuring and cutting to short malarky just fit tighten and forgot lovely(cept xtr headsets were pretty come to think of it...so were mavic and campy .....course so were the chris king rasta jobbies....hmmmmmm)

After following the instructions on headset fitting on the Park Tools website, it would appear that it was my own technical ability that was letting me down... oh dear.

Nevermind, all sorted now, cheers people
