Head badge clean up

I have a 1960’s Carlton Catalina that has had the frame powder coated and repainted. It’s a nice paint job but bizarrely the head badge wasn’t removed before painting. I’m now in a conundrum - I want to restore the head badge but can’t think how do it without damaging the surrounding paintwork.
Should I just cut my loses and put a Carlton sticker over the original badge? Seems a shame to.

Acetone removes powder coat, so you could potentially mask the surrounding headtube very, very, very, very well, then use a cotton wool earbud with a small amount of acetone on it to gently start to soften and remove the powder coat. If I was attempting it, I would go at it very slowly.

I’d also wait till someone far more knowledgeable than me replies to say if this is a good idea or not.

P.S. unless they are used to doing bikes, a powder coater will generally coat whatever you give them. I would always remove bits and plug holes myself first.

one path might be to remove it then sand down the head tube and spray paint with a contrasting colour as was so widely done in decades past...
