I picked this up recently. Head 610 with paint by CyclArt in San Marcos, California. Stem, bars, seatpost, seat post clamp, and even saddle (not the one in the pic) have the "Head" logo on them.

I'll put the correct saddle on it and post more pics soon.

I can't find any definitive info about this bike's origins, and I was hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on the subject. Thanks in advance for anyone with any info about it.

Re:

The same HEAD sport brand?
I remember the logo from a tennis racquet I had at school.

Was then, is now..http://www.head-bike.com/

Head became part of Prince Sports group in 1976 by taking Prince over; however by 1990 both were part of 'Benetton Sportsystem' - part of Benetton group, along with Ski & fellow MTB-maker Kastle.

I'd hazard a total guess that they were probably the same bikes, but a badging exercise. Looks like the top-end Head (1100) was a re-badged Yeti loop-tail http://forums.mtbr.com/vintage-retro-cl ... 97843.html but with this one there's not as many answers out there.. probably because from the components it looks like the base (floor) model.
You might be able to dig something out from Prince/Benetton if there's any surviving info from that era.
