Have Yodel nicked my frame??? UPDATE

I recently sold a Cannondale Raven frame on here, which was packed into a proper bike box, and was collected on the 26th January by Yodel.

I booked the collection through www.parcel2go.com. The only reference number I have is the Parcel2Go reference (the Yodel driver didn't provide a receipt for this collection, although he usually does).

The last tracking information shows that the box was tracked out of the Cardiff depot on 27/1/2012.... Then nothing...

I've called the depot where it was supposed to be headed, and they haven't received it. The central hub in Droitwich doesn't have it, and the Cardiff depot are saying that they haven't got it.

The guy I spoke to at the Cardiff depot told me that the box would have been scanned as it was loaded on to the lorry to go to the central hub, and that this relates to the last bit of tracking information that I have.

Unfortunately, between the Cardiff depot and the hub, the box seems to have fallen into a black hole and disappeared... I'm wondering whether, somewhere along the line, someone has seen what's inside the box and has decided that it would be far better off if it went home with them, rather than being delivered to the person who bought it.. Call me a sceptic but I find it very hard to believe that a HUGE bike box with 2 address labels on it can mysteriously disappear!

Not happy... The guy who bought it was really looking forward to receiving it and now it looks like I may have to refund him, whilst at the same time jumping through all the hoops in order to try to get my own money refunded.... I've recently bought another bike with the money, and it looks like I'll now have to split it straight away just so I can pay the refund :(

yodel are an absolute shower of s***. cheap but terrible.

it will probably turn up but get the ball rolling for sorting insurance.

To be fair, they've been good up until now. I think all courier companies are pretty much the same..

I've submitted a claim through Parcel2Go. I just completely fail to comprehend how they can lose such a big box...?

Sounds like theft to me. I cant understand how they can say its lost its a chubby great box all tagged up with barcodes addresses and the like how can you misplace it. Hope it was fully insured.

Talking of yodel have they taken over from DHL on parcel2go?

I used to always use them for deliveries but now they don't show as an option with p2go. It seems these yodel people have stepped in at their price-point

Real shame as I never had any probs with DHL but no nothing of yodel.

Exactly. Even if the box had been mis-sorted, it still should have some form of tracking information from the depot where it was sent to, even if it ended up in a depot in the outer hebrides! It can't just be loaded onto a van and then not taken off again...?!

It also looks a bit suspect to me as the parcel was tracked out of the Cardiff depot 37 seconds (yes, 37 seconds!) after it was tracked in off the van..! :?

The worst thing (and completely my fault so I hold my hands up) is that it wasn't insured for the full amount, so even if my claim was successful, I'll still be out of pocket. I have only myself to blame for that though and I'll learn in future. This is the reason why, if I do have to issue a refund, I will have to sell a bike which I've only just bought in order to be able to afford to do it :(

Thankfully, the guy who bought it (jskdog) is a top chap and we're waiting to see what happens before a refund is spoken about.

DHL and Yodel are essentially the same. Yodel take care of the domestic side of things, and DHL still manage the overseas stuff as far as I'm aware.

I've never had a problem with Yodel before this and they collect 1-2 times a week from me... That doesn't make this any less annoying though!

I used Parcel2Go and Yodel for something, and I'll never use them again. The 48 hrs service turned into a week. No apologies, the helpdesk couln't even care less.

Home Delivery Network bought DHL Express and rebranded themselves Yodel.

Ive had no problems. But I always insure at full value.

It could very well be a logistics issue and your box is still sitting somewhere completely forgotten about; unbelievably it does happen...
