Got back from muddy winter ride and no only put the usual cycling kit in the washing machine but also your cycling shoes? I have as they were just covered. They made a bit of noise in the machine but have come out lovely

Yes and also when i lived in my flat i used to put the bike in the shower to wash it, Otherwise the local scrotes would of had it away.

yes cycle shoes have been in machine before now... make a clunking noise if you put them in on their own

Far better to use the dishwasher, causes less damage and shoes stand nicely on the plate racks.

Strangely I used to use the power-shower as a dishwasher when I was a student: put the dishes into the shower with fairy liquid, turned shower on and then went to lectures, came back to clean dishes! Oh the joy of a uni house where all bills were included

i always bang em in a pillow case just to soften the blow to the machine

I did until I got SPuD cleats, where I started to wash them in the sink to avoid expensive damage

Yup...done that. When I was rebuilding the little green meanie in my avatar I used to load the dishwasher to clean loads of bit...when the Mrs was out

This sounds famoliar....one time at a friends house making tea, I shout "where are your mugs"? "try the dishwasher" he replies. Having located said appliance, I opened it to find the housing of a Volumex supercharger inside!! Oh happy days....... :roll:
