Handlebar stem recommendations please

Hi retro bikers
Can any of you name some decent brands of handlebar stems (ahead) opposed to quill from the '90s

Kore, Ritchey, Control Tech, Fred Salmon Racing come to mind straight off the top of my head.

Trying to get an idea of what I need for my purple Saracen Terratrax build you see.

The frame has a 17" CtC 19" CtT seat tube and a 22" top tube I'm around 6ft with a fairly short inseam but average arm length for my height, I guess I'd be looking at getting a reasonably long stem but not crowbar long, something similar to what was on my Marin East Peak in the late '90s as that was a similar sized frame IIRC.

Any recommendations for components, I was thinking of running a Shimano STX RC groupset in silver if I can source all the bits but I don't mind mixing and matching if it comes to it, and also it's going to have cantis and not Vs because that's what the design dictates. I'm considering tricking it out with some blue anodised bike candy here and there but we'll see.

Thanks

Friendly bump, also pondering this very same question, would like an ahead stem from 93/94 that'll hold Ritchey Forcelite bars to the steerer tube from a Muddy Fox Monarch Pro.

There are lots, period or otherwise. A few others to ponder:

Syncros, titec, use, hope, bontrager, Thompson, kalloy etc.

Do you need one with a roller or cable run for the cantis? That will limit your options unless you go headset or fork mount for the canti cable stop.

Thanks for the bump
What got me thinking was a pic of a similar Tufftrax with a Ritchey Forcelite stem with those bars or very similar to what you mentioned and it looked very smart. I'll see if I can find the pic

Thanks for the list ishaw.
I might have got the terminology wrong with the stem due to only having recent experience with quills, are the bolt on stems called ahead or is that just a name given when using a converter in a threaded steerer? pardon my ignorance.
It's a threadless steerer on the Terratrax and the headset that's fitted to the bike's got a cable stop spacer for the cantis, I think it's made by YS something or other, haven't got the bike to hand today to look sorry.

Finally got this build complete and I’m overjoyed with how it’s turned out... reunited it with the original owner today and he couldn’t believe how fantastic it’s turned up and remembered the day he picked it up from the shop!

I’ll get to try it in the street when the snow clears... here’s some pics and I’ve stuck it into BOtM Feb for what it’s worth. It’s by no means a unicorn but is like the day it left the shop and i do love the colour and how it changes in the light....

Feels incredibly light too... I’ll weigh it when I post the full spec list....

Hope you like it and build list will follow when I get chance...

Cheers
Andy

Ps.... next up? Either my sane era green Saracen Kili Team or my 1998 Scott Endorphin!!!

Not sure if I've done this right but I've tried to quote the post with Saracen that's got that bar stem combo for you to look at to get an idea, pretty sure it's a Forcelite stem but could be wrong. Hope it helps
