Okay, I see. You spec it as 'Cunningham' because it has to be fit on the unique steerer knob. I do not see another reason why you would spec it as Cunningham.
 
It came on a Cunningham and the owner thought it was made by Charlie. I don't think it was since the design is different from all my Cunningham stems in the details.
 
The original owner was living in the Bay Area in the 80s and going to Stanford. He bought his Cunningham at one of the local shops and as an "off the shelf" bike. He rode that bike hard for the next twenty-five years. In the early days he had this stem made but ended up using a Girvin!
