So it's not goin to work then. Always baffles me when there is talk of manipulating time. If it were possible wouldn't someone from the future turn up and tell us how it's done? Waste of time and money. Six billion pounds eh? That's a C-26 for every RB member in the world!

Aye, I've always thought that too..............time travel can't be invented in 2250, for instance, because it's time travel- it will always have existed. Though there is a theory that time travel may be possible, but only from the moment it is discovered- future type blokees (wearing silver hotpants, of course) will be able to travel back to 2250 to laugh at the flares-wearing types of that era, but no further back.........the Flares Dudes, of course, can travel forward to the future, where they have time travel machines...............and hover boards, obviously.

No real need for a time machine, we'll have them in 5 and a bit years any way!!!

Also, 6 billion isn't that much money. It wouldn't even cover this years Xmas bonuses for persons in the financial sector!!!

First Collisions - BBC News

It lives! Not only that but they have already started crashing stuff ;) How long before they create Black Holes then?

The sheer scale of this thing amazes me, there are some stunning photos of the various detectors somewhere on T'Interweb. Hoping they will re-run the documentary about it now, had to watch it on iPlayer before.

I have to disagree w/ these posts and admit that I'm secretly fond of the LHC. I hope it achieves its mission. There are some offshoots of its potential scientific discoveries, one of which could be the ability to manipulate time.

here here, im a science buff, money well spent i say, why invade countries to no purpose at all (unless its oil /s) more money needs to spent on science, Nasa should join forces with Europe, Asia etc, and we should explorer space and all its dimension as one unified force. How it all started, what its doing and who else is out there is all worth knowing.
