I'm of that mind, too.

Odd thing, though - in another thread, I questioned somebody who'd left a bike unlocked outside a shop, when they'd had another bike nicked from outside the same shop a year earlier. And read another account of how somebody ended up getting a bike nicked outside a chippy. And yet despite all of that, some people either don't bother, or say they don't bother locking their bikes up.

I just don't get it - if you're an enthusiast, up to the point where you join and regularly participate in a website all about bikes, and clearly have an enthusiast's interest in the bikes you own, and then leave them unprotected - what do they think is going to happen?

bikes nicked in our street this week too, my good ones are in the house but I think I up the level of security anyway - I really like the trip wire idea, just inside the shed door :)

It wouldn't be your fault if they accidentally landed on the garden fork!

mehhh..........rake is far cheaper, and has comedic just desserts value.......

Tripwire or summat attached to one of them screamer alarms and a strobe would do the trick nicely.

Or mebbe one of them classic Russian Submarine Klaxons..................EEEHHHRRRRRGAAAAAA-----EEEHHHRRRRRGAAAAAA-----
