Gym/Swimming Pool Memberships - HOW MUCH?!

If you have a medical reason to do so like depression or being overweight you can get a gym membership on prescription from the NHS in a lot of places.

I pay £38 per month for gold membership - everything at anytime. Discounted from £48 due to company deal. Lots of us use it as it is near where we work. Good for lunchtime totty spotting and seeing our very attractive female assistant accountant in tight lycra getting a good sweat going.

Why not? It's cheaper than treating health problems brought about through obesity and mental illness.

It's very easy to say they should ride more/eat less/stop spending my taxes/cheer up, but that doesn't actually help people.

I joined a DW sports gym a month ago. I got a 'corporate' deal at £35/month with no contract! Its usualy £40/month so not a bad saving.
I'll use it till summer then sack it until the winter.
If anyone is interested, the corporate code to enter when joining online is... DWS(location of gym)corp (ie, mine was DWSPOOLECORP)
Very cryptic hey
They never check, or even ask who you work for

I guess I'm lucky.

There's an amazing, safe park 300m from my place.
It has jogging track, handball courts, climbing wall, basketball, 3 decent metal mini halfpipes (of the skateboard variety), roller-blade circuit, tennis courts, cafe, bar, open-air cinema...

And, as the snow has finally melted, it will be full of hotties from now until September. 8)

...or, I could stop halfway to the park and pay good money to use the gym = Stuck indoors in a nasty glass box that looks like a 1960s Sci-Fi movie....?

No thanks.
