Guyzer...probably maybe for sale

Discs

TBH as its only an SS, I doubt the benefit of discs all around? Maguras would be a good option, as the bit of extra weight would be more than compensated for by better modulation and increased stopping power.
The Graphics could be easily reproduced by Gil on here, if you did go for a re paint.

Ditto on the Magura's.

My weekend warrior club is now 50% Magura's and performance wise they are fine (prefer them to discs in very muddy conditions, not for pure power, but for the pads actually lasting more than one race lap).

Plus they have a nice retro aspect to them, and come in colours too, dare I say custom PC?

Enjoy!!

Maguras

A lot of racers are going back to V's/rims as the wheels can be so much lighter. I always thought if Magura applied some modern cnc technology to their rim brakes, they could look a lot nicer and weigh a lot less coupled with a better brake compound and tougher braking surfaces? they are certainly a lot more reliable than discs!

:? ceramic rims and avid ultimates should be more than up to the job on a SS. Do you have the right pads fitted?

Yup, its just the wet weather performance that I'm looking to upgrade..in the dry the set-up is plenty powerful enough.

Anyway...this is the direction I am going. Whatcha reckon.

Bought some lovely disc only Vicious Cycles gloss black rigid forks from Gil.

Gonna build up some new wheels..probably DMR Revolver Disc hubs front and rear (I know...hold on) with rim-brake rims (either my own Sun ones or something like XC717's). BB7 up front....and the current Avid Ultimate to the rear.

The above will leave me with future options. When I do get a respray (eventually) I'll have a rear disc tab welded on...and the wheels will be already disc ready.

Good plan....or should I get my coat.
