GT Zaskar LE

Out-Spoke-n

Retro Newbie
Hi all,

I just came across this GT Zaskar that I may be able to purchase, but wanted to get more info on it. As far as I can tell, it was made in July '91 and is in pretty good condition. I'm no Zaskar expert, but always loved the bike. Especially the early models. I'm hoping someone can shed more light on what to look for and the approximate value?

The owner says he built it frame-up. it still has the orignial Rock Shox 21's, Shimano XT, Mavic 231's, and Panaracer tires. The cockpit appears to be a mix of aftermarket stuff, but then again I don't know what the original specs were for the Zaskar LE in '91.

Any insights would be much appreciated...

Not sure on value (they seem to be all over the place),
I've seen complete bikes go for £100 or imaculate frames for £200
with all points in between.

I would say if it's dirty/corroded don't worry as long as the frame is straight (check the welds and the rear triangle). If it's just a frame
chuck a (straight) wheel on the back and spin, this will tell you a lot.
A 91 should have integral rear mech hanger, a frame number with month/year/serial no and probably 6061 and a frame size stamped on it
somewhere on the rear stays.

Any more info search on here for one of the any 'is this a Zaskar' threads.

Hope this helps.

Finally got pic to work.
Is this it (looks mint) or was this just an example.
