GT ZASKAR LE - 18"

Got a hanger from ProBikeKit £18.00.

Never really been into GT's but this is as light as a feather (will get it to post office and weigh it). Just the finish of it and build quality, superb.

Picked the whole bike up for £300 on evilbay thinking the frame would be worth that. Bike did not ride well for me as front forks stem far to low for me. So have broken up and yet to decide what to do with the frame. I promptly broke the mech hanger in no time as chain slipped off the rear big cog! D'oh!

One of these in polished aluminium, yes please.

i have a 97 in anno red, any one got any ideas on getting it shiny again?

Not to get off topic but.....The 97's in Red were called Frost Red....the frames were actually bead blasted or lightly roughed before anodizing to give it a matte or flat look.
In my opinion the Frost Red and Blue from 97 were the worst Zaskar colors GT ever did. Tough to clean and the surface texture holds dirt and grease.

The mid 92-96 anodized frames were all ball burnished first before being anodized and that's why they have the deep shinny luster that the 97's don't have. No 97's in my line-up.

I'd aim for maybe half of that, unfortunately. As nice as they are, they don't seem to command really strong prices.

The price for the frame only back in February '96 was £479 incidentally.

Yep, that seems about right with regards to the used price.

My mint 14.5" 1996 Zaskar LE frame (which I believe to be fairly rare as I think it was the only year they did a 14.5" USA-made one?) set me back £190 and came complete with an unmarked and uncut KORE Elite seatpost too.

14.5" frames do have a premium, yep - but that's a good price you got yours for Barney. I'm still on the hunt for one for the better half.

I might have to sell it yet if my past luck has been anything to go by!

The only two ridden in the past year are the 14.5"ers at the end of the row...the Mrs. and the daughters...I prefer riding the Psyclones and the Xizang.
