GT Zaskar, cooks cranks, hope wheels

My much loved original race bike for sale.
18" Zaskar with dia comp U brake.

Can't be certain of the exact age, round about '91 I think. I can't check the serial number as the bike was once stolen from me and the scum bags filed off the number, hence the removal of all the stickers too. I subsequently recovered the bike after trawling the old' for sale' pages that used to be in the back of the bike mags BITD.

The frame is clean, no cracks or dings, comes with, as you can see a mixture of parts, including:

Cooks cranks
Ringle QR - one has a blue end opposite the purple qr lever.
Pace chain rings
Hope titanium hubs
XT brake levers
XTR front canti's

It's not been ridden in a long time and I'm looking to fund an SB-66, so time to say a fond farewell.

Looking for £500 - don't know if this is a fair price - let me know folks.
Rather not split but if no takers then will be an option, so let me know if you're more interested in parts.

Any Q's....just ask. Cheers

right, it's not gentlemanly to comment on pricings in the sale section normally, but you've asked specifically.

I don't think you're particularly way off with the price. But I think you might struggle to get it for the whole bike..

If you sell all the bits seperately you probably reach your 500 target.

It's a nice example, and nice to know you've used it properly.

GLWS and please do prove me wrong - I'm a sucker for a nice Zaskar.

Always sad to see these threads. I know we all do it but there is something distressing about seeing people flock around like vultures in an undignified way waiting to strip the flesh from someone's pride and joy.

Nah, its retro recycling.

Jerky I had hoped to see the complete bike go to a new home, however I guess I knew this was unlikely and a strip and split was the most likely end. To be fair the old girl has undergone several makeovers over the years from myself, so doesn't really resemble what she originally looked like when I first took charge of her.

I will look to strip it down over the next few weeks and post up parts.
I'll PM those who have shown interest in the various parts.
Cheers for the interest and thanks the advice on price etc.
