GT Zaskar 20th Anniversary

I've finally managed to complete the build of my 20th anniversary Zaskar.
I've gone for an up to date build using the following spec.

Frame - GT Zaskar 20th Anniversary Medium 18.5"
(its from 2008 but bought new by me this year '10 from a bike shop in Germany)
Front fork - Manitou R7 100mm with MILO
Handlebars - Ritchey WCS carbon bars
Stem - Thomson X4 90mm 10deg rise
Headset - Cane Creek IS-3 (started with a Hope integrated but it doesnt fit)
Heaset spacers - Hope plus a Hope Head doctor
Grips - GT Lock-on, update have fitted ergo grips to avoid numb hands
Saddle - Selle Italia Gel Flow (Ti oval rails)
Seatpost - USE XCR carbon shock post with SUMO adaptor clamp to fit oval rails, update now have fitted a Thompson seat post
Seat clamp - HOPE Red
Front brake - Avid Elixir R 185mm rotor
Rear brake - Avid Elixir R 160mm rotor
Cranks - XTR M970
BB - Hope Ceramic bearing -Red
Chain - KMC X9 SL
Pedals - XTR 970 SPD
Front derailleur - XTR M970 top pull, bottom swing
Rear derailleur - Sram X0 redwin
Front shifter - X0 redwin
Rear shifter - X0 redwin
Cassette - Sram PG990 redwin 11-32
Front Wheel - Hope Pro 11 red hub laced to mavic 717 rims ACI stainless steel double butted spokes
Rear Wheel - Hope Pro 11 red hub laced to mavic 717 rimsACI stainless steel double butted spokes
QR's- Superstar cr-mo red
Tyres - Currently on Schwalbe 2.1" racing ralphs
Total weight - 10.8Kg

Although I say it myself, its a lovely ride. I'm really enjoying being back in the saddle again.

Nice build. I wonder how much GT would charge for this if they built it ?
Why did the headset not fit ? Was it a problem with the hope or with the frame ?

Your views on these re-issued zaskar frames please ?
I'm surprised they had integrated headsets ? And integrated seat post clamps ?
I'd have thought GT would have re-issued say a 1992 style frame.
The frame looks like what a zaskar frame would look like if GT were to make a 6061 frame now rather than a "re-issue"

Anyway, nice,no expence spared build.
Now go and get it dirty.
 
nice silver - red theme going on there.

the bolts for the rear brake adapter could do with shortening.
 
That looks nice. You ought to swap out the yellow decals for the red ones to match the red theme you've got going there. Here's my '92 with a few red bling parts...
