Retro Newbie
SOLD: I bought the frame 6 months old in late 1990s. It's an 18” with no cracks, dents or significant scratches. The serial number on the bottom bracket is G18258 and states "Made in USA".

Spec. is as follows:

XTR front mech, XT short cage rear mech, Tioga revolver cranks, TA 44,34,22 chainrings, Girving vector 2 forks with speedspring, Tioga disk drive with Mavic ceramic rim and XTR hub. XT thumbshifters, Deore V brakes. Mavic rim front wheel with hope titanium hub. Ringle seat post and bottle cage. Kore bars, Titanium skewers. Spares included are set alloy chain rings 46/36, second Ringle bottle cage, control tech stem and a set of Rockshox Mag 21 SLti (in need of restoration).

This is in original condition and unrestored. I hated the GT stickers everywhere over the frame and removed most with the exception of what you see in the photos. The cranks could do with a repaint and the vector forks alloy could do with a full polish, but otherwise everything else is good to go. The revolver crank set has replaceable sealed ball races which are cheap to replace and can be sourced in any bearing suppliers. There's a bag with some spare bits for the disk drive.

Rides really well, with a very compliant ride that the combination of the disk drive and the titanium frame gives and which really takes the harshness out of the hard tail.

Selling as a complete bike only, will not split. £1200

Re:

This would of been more than 6 months old in the late 90s

This has got some really nice parts on it. Ie the tioga cranks and disk drive, but for a bike like this it also has some crap, like the brakes and the saddle. I used to have those brakes on my raleigh void halfords special when i was about 10.... Anyway it may be worth considering parting it out, b/cos the forks are a very aquired taste too. Anyway if it was a 16" i would of definately been tempted, but unfortunately i am a short arse. good luck with the sale, i reckon its easilly worth the asking price :D
