GT Xizang - a dream comes true

that works for me, always thought syncros would look good on a xizang, I went for the xmas tree look as I was halfway there already, yours looks great. The pace forks finish it a treat.

Love it,

keep it as it is

I didn't notice the revolutions with the yellow mags on it!

How wierd

Chris.

I hate GT's...

...But I love this one!

I think its the pace forks and syncros that make it.

wouldnt mind sticking some really big bu**ers on there (black jobbies) for thetford ...must go to lbs...... :P

Some friends in germany have the same problem with the lightning frame - of course it's from 1997, too.

Some of the original Lightnings were shipped with a Kalloy 27.4mm post from the factory when originally built. But I've seen many a Xizang but never one that needed a 27.4mm post....that's weird.

Great looking bike! but is needs real shifters.

Hi, it's me again :D

Since 1993 I'm a GT rider, I worked hard beside school to buy my GT Zaskar - my first mountainbike (it is still in my hands).
But my really dream was a GT Xizang, but at this time it was unpayable for me.

I`ve had to wait 14 years until my dream comes true.
And then she arrived; it's not just a frame - it's a sculpture!

Great bike :) Are those ALR/Jordan speakers in the background? Or Monitor Audio perhaps? My other faveorite thing is Hi-Fi :)

Happy for you that your dream is now reality : What a beautifull bike, elegant with a bit of aggressivity 8)
I prefered the neon yellow magura in the first pictures.

I love this picture :

My second-hand '92 Xizang should take a 27.2mm post, but the Kalloy I had in there slips as it only gets supported by the two bits of the top of the seat tube right next to the clamp slit. I now use a slimmer post with a USE shim, but it's 0.2mm fatter than it 'should' be for the shim.

I'd wondered if a better clamp might help?

It's like the top of the seat tube has somehow been enlarges slightly. I wonder if this might be due to over-tightening or something similar.
