GT Timberline Reynolds 525

Hey Guys and Gals,

Just got a decent condition GT Timberline in at the community workshop where I volunteer. I reckon I'll be buying it myself to give to my nephew.

Just wondering if someone can pinpoint a year on this one. I've checked out Bikepedia but can't seem to get an accurate idea. It's Reynolds 525, or at least the seat tube is, got a front GT 'drum'(?) hub but the rear wheel has been switched out. Front forks are Rock Shox Indy XC, bars/stem/seatpost & clamp are all GT branded. V-brakes are Avid.

I'm in Australia but this bike is a North American model going by the dealer sticker, if that makes a difference.

My nephew is pretty stoked, it's replacing a generic chromoly horizontal top tubed atb I built for him a while ago. He's keen for his first 'real' mountain bike to hit some trails with me.

Hope so! He's a good kid, always up for a day's worth of riding even though he knows it'll probably be a tough one, this bike will make it a bit easier. Volunteers every weekend with me at the community workshop where we fix up bikes for newly arrived refugees, even chooses that over going out with his friends.

I had a 97 and it was different so I'd go 98 or later...
