Nope - it's a '98 LTS 1000/ 2000 / 3000 - and it is indeed a 16"

ST looks a bit straight for a 98...

And as for bomber colours... I give up...

Straight seat tubes were before 98. This has the cnc'd chainstay brace by the BB pivot and a trunion mount shock, so unless he's upgraded parts it's a 97 lts 1 like mine.
