Hi everyone
Still new 2nd post only so please excuse me.
Current ride GT LTS100ds m/L not sure of exact sze but I am 5' 8" and it is to big but not getting rid of it.
In bits GT STS s/m slightly smaller frame was riding it but found crack in bottom bracket ally section which I have now had this successfully welded and just need to reduild it (hence post as this will have the shock off the lts but using it for measurments to get the parts made for the lts)
Just thought I would let you know I have just managed to mount a Fox Alps 4R,short eye to eye to a later shape top trunion mount using existing travel clips.
I have used a short length of 12mm stainless steel tubing. This is a nice fit in the shock bushes. This has been machined to fit between the rocker arm.
The travel clip hole has an internnal diameter of 9mm and so does the 12mm tubing so the mounting bolt will go straight through the clips from side to side and all very tight no play.
Very simple and straightforward total cost £20 for shock off e-bay
£1 for tubing local steel ssupplier and probably £2 for bolts Namrick nut and bolt Hover very good forall your nuts and bolts.
Sorry not able to post any images as I have a steam driven abacus for a computer
