Aaaaaargh!!

This is a Large and I need a medium

I could just keep it and polish it and hold it and polish it and look at it and touch it, but I'm gonna bite the bullet and offer it up for sale. So here's the spec

GT STS-DH 1997 Size Large
Carbon Fibre (Thermoplastic)

This bike has undergone a total rebuild using quality parts.

The frame has some very minor marks. It isn't brand new after all. The Carbon fibre is in good condition NO CRACKS, NO DENTS. The aluminium is really shiny, I spent hours polishing it with Autosol.

This bike was purchased as a project by myself as I always wanted one but couldn't afford the £4k+ price when they were first issued.

The components are as follows

GT STS-DH Carbon Fibre Frame Large Serial Number
Brand New GT STS-DH Decals sourced from the USA and Original Spec
Brand New Rockshox Super Deluxe Rear Suspension Unit Sourced From the USA and Original Spec
Brand New Trunion Mount Bushes from BETD

Shimano XT Groupset which incorporates

Brand New Old Stock Shimano XT Brake/ Shifters 27 speed, Sourced from USA
Brand New Shimano XT Hollowtech II Crankset and Bottom Bracket
Brand New Shimano XT Rear Derailleur
Brand New Shimano XT Front Derailleur
Brand New Shimano XT Rear V Brake with Carbon Fibre Brake Boost
Brand New Front and Rear Shimano XT Skewers

Combination of Shimano XTR and XT Cabling all round

Marzocchi Bombers - Really good condition
I also have a set of Triple clamp Rockshox Judy DH Forks which will give the bike a real DH look if required. These Forks are also in really good condition and will include them for FREE if the price is met.
Brand New WTB Speed V Saddle

New Hayes MX1 front Disc Brake -
Brand New Shimano XT Seatpost cut down to fit frame
Brand New Shimano dual purpose SPD / Platform pedals
Brand New Ritchey Rizer Handlebars
Brand New Azonic Polished Aluminium Stem
Brand New Toxsin Lock-on Handlebar Grips

Hope Headset Black
New Hope Headset Spacers Black
New Hope Quick Release Seatpost Clamp Black
New Hope Head Doctor Red

24seven Supercross 26" Wheelset with Gold Hubs. Excellent condition, these wheels haven't seen much use. A 9 speed SRAM cassette is fitted, as are two 24seven tyres and a Brand New Hayes 160mm Rotor to front

Does need a chain and the rear brake cable routed

LOOKING FOR £800 POSTED BUT MAY CONSIDER P/X OR EVEN A SWAP FOR A MEDIUM SIZE FULL SUSPENSION, GOING TO LEAVE IT ON HERE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE IT GOES ON EBAY. ALSO OPEN TO OFFERS, DIBS ONLY IF YOU PM ME

REDUCED TO £750 CAN'T GO ANY LOWER, IF NO INTEREST IT GOES ON eBAY

i will post outside the UK but will have to get a price first

Gotta pass on this baby. Not enough of the readies floating about :(
Thanks for the heads up.
Now you can unleash the masses on it :D

No probs

This is how much it cost's to build a bike like this

Crankset £139.99
Rear Derailleur £49.99
Front Mech £25.95
Rockshox Deluxe £100
Wheelset £140
Seatpost £30
Saddle £20
Handlebar £39.99
Stem £39.99
Grips £12.99
Shifter/Brakes £69.99
Disc and Caliper £49.99
Rear V Brake and Booster £32
Decals £22
Hope Head Doctor £14.99
Hope Spacer £7
Hope Headset £56
Hope Seat clamp £15.49
Cabling £30
Pedals £16
Skewers £18

If you want a bike like this in this condition it will cost you over £900 just for the above parts. Remember though this doesn't include the most important bits, the Frame and Forks which would easily take the figure to over £1300 plus the free set of Judy's thrown in, so £800 seems like a bit of a bargain to me.

I'm a bit :o that no ones considering buying it yet, thought it would get snapped up.

Here's another couple of pics to tempt you.

I'd rather it go to someone on here than eBay

Don't put it on e-bay. You'll never get the money you want for it. How about splitting it and trying that way to fund the Lobo?
Is the Lobo a full build though or can you donor the parts off this onto it?

Lobo's paid for, full build but will need refurbishing.

Probably won't get what I want for it on eBay, far to many bargain hunters on there, but you never know.

Seems a shame to break this bike as it's so nice and a real head turner. If it don't sell I might even put it in storage as it's going to increase in value if anything as they get rarer and rarer.

I will let in run on here for a few days more and see what happens.

If people think the price is a little bit steep just PM me a reasonable offer and I might consider it. :)

I don't mind taking a little hit on it, but for all you people considering building one of these bikes, word of warning, IT AIN'T CHEAP TO DO SO
