GT scrap yard find

Called in to my local scrap yard to see if anyone had scrapped some chain (they did - 6m of 15mm chain to my delight). On my way out I spotted this sitting on a pile of scrap. Asked the owner and he said a bloke from the local university dropped 25 bikes off yesterday this being one of them. Said it was free to good home! Not sure what to do. Thinking a townie cruiser!

Don’t know a lot of about GT’s but the welds looks superb and the dropouts are really neat.

I am more interested in your pickup....difficult to discern which model

Interesting paint job!
Shame they didn't bother to remove the headset cups, or mask the bottom bracket threads which suggests it's not been built up since it was painted. Perhaps it was an art class project?

I thought something like that. Most bike people would know to remove the cups and mask the threads

meh, chase the threads easy enough and the cups have kept the paint out the head tube. lazy is as lazy does.

nice frame for free, give it a clear coat and rock it as is.
