Sorry if this is a boring subject but I'm new to this forum & would appreciate some help to identify my GT.
I bought it in about 1995 believing it was a Zaskar but not sure now?
The frame number on the inside of the lefthand dropout is H1M 1997.
The frame has always been ball burnished, has a U brake rear caliper & riveted cable guide under the top tube and a non replaceable single bolt derailleur.
The end of the frame top tube with the GT logo on is flat?
Not sure whether it's a Pantera or Avalanche now?
Any ideas please?

That would make it a Pantera, I think. The H in the serial number is from the Hodoka factory in Taiwan (or something) ;-)

It should be earlier as 1995 because from 1993 onwards all GT frames had cantilever brakes AFAIK...
