Spudly Retrobike Rider PoTM Winner Kona Fan Mar 27, 2014 #2 From what i understand, the first four numbers are the month and year of the frame's manufacture. Here's mine on my zaskar... 0893, so its august 1993, making it a 1994 released model! Hope that is some help!

T'boo Ted GT Fan Feedback View Mar 29, 2014 #4 but then thats just zaskars, xizangs have different numbers (theres a whole thread on those) and tawain bikes have different numbering... I think the same but with the factory inital at the start (not sure, don';t care)
