sylus , now i know you think your being helpful, but can you please check with me first on frames i would not like anyone else to know about?
apart for GM who can tell me what it is seeing as you have gone and mentioned it. i have contacted the seller who has told me that the side not photographed is riddled with holes and dents and rust and that the whole frame is being held together by the powdercoat.

oh and im not lying neither.

no but really, i would like a small half decent steel framed GT to go with some forks i have had knocking about for ages, im hoping its a teeny pscyclone or something

After this weekend I'm not putting anymore finds in... Seems I've upset quite a few by outing hidden jewels

Anyway I hope everyone now knows this frame is horrible...

I love and loathe this section of the site with equal measure. but it has found me more things i have wanted than things i did not want found by others if you know what i mean, I'm happy when i see things reach their true value also, and gems are still to be found.

if people have had a problem then it is their problem which they need to deal with.

Dropouts and lack of groove tube suggest something along the lines of Talera/Timberline....I'm sure this will be confirmed in more detail by one of the GT experts

Flat end cap and the positioning of the gear cable stops on the down tube tell me it's a 92 and as you said with those dropouts it's a Timberline or lower.

Aaarrrrrgghh this is driving me mad !

I imediately thought Palomar from the integral hanger/seatclamp but can't get my head around the hole in the dropouts. I can't think of any steel GTs like that ???

Since I bought GT number 4 on friday I'd better not get caught looking at
any more....

Much though it means people get made aware of things I have been quietly watching/bidding on it's good to have them listed as the more people who look at them, the more likely someone will spot if there is anything amiss.

Also, if people are buying whole bikes for parts they may find other people on here who want to put in a joint bid with them so they can split the parts.
