Here is my 1998 GT Bravado, ended up with this as a freebie and had it in the garage a while. Ive replaced the forks and tyres but decided it needed a thorough clean up.

Re:

Here are pics of a few of the bits after a bit of a clean. The front mech isn't going to make it to the other side but ive a nice enough Deore lx one for the time being. It will be getting matching skewers too. What do people put inside the frames to prevent rust? I'm aware of more of the car products but didn't want to weight it down with a load of heavy wax.

Re:

I did have some red Manitou SX but they weren't great, also had these looking for a home so they have replaced the RST forks. Shame about the canti stopper but I'm pretty certain I have another somewhere from my Aluminium Elite build. I especially like the fact that the yellow coincides well with the Stickers on the frame.

Re:

Here it is, wearing its 'new' tyres, forks and front mech. I've got another XT front derailleur but its top pull instead of bottom so needs modifying. I'm pretty certain I have got an m739 XT crank somewhere in the garage / loft so it might get that put on it too, if I can be bothered.
Please forgive me for having a canti bridge fork, it wont be forever....

Looking much better with that Judy on. The snowflake chainset was correct in that year (although I know people don't like them much). All in all looks like a smart rider.

Carl.

Re:

Cheers. I may look to move this one on in a few months, no real need for it. I've always been a fan of the snowflake Cranks though, don't know why people are so against them :-)

Here's one more fan! I find a lot of the older 5-arm cranks pretty ugly, especially early 90's ones in standard BCD.

Like this 8-) Cheap option for inside frames is linseed oil. Expensive option is Weigle framesaver
