GT bottom bracket, bearing replacement?

Read the Bikepro link you posted and follow the assembly steps noted in reverse. Use a very sharp chisel and place it at the inner edge of the bearing and tap lightly all the way around the bearing until you get a slight gap with the blue body sleeve. Mine came apart easily after I had an 1/8" gap.

I went a slightly different route. I think I would have, at a minimum, damaged the aluminum dust shield. I figured, I'm replacing the bearings anyway, why not destroy them? So. I crushed the outside race of the bearing in a vice, it cracked and split in two, and then it all fell apart. Took 2 minutes and I had it completely disassembled. Installed some new Enduro max bearings and o-rings, and it's good as new.
