GT AVALANCHE FRAME IS ORIGINAL/FAKE

I can't get information about this frame anywhere. He is original? GT AVALANCHE 3.0 Because he doesn't have the ® after the GT.

Serial number is FDYF04254.

99.9% certain that is genuine. I can't remember seeing the ® sign on either of the GTs I had. It's not necessary to use it every time the trade mark is used, either.

I think it is genuine. Looks to be close to this vintage. Taiwan made GT's have the curved top tube end cap while the US made frames have a flat end cap - I think the rule applies to almost all models.

Looking at that frame number I would hazard a guess at a 2004 model. it was not GT's best period for frame design. I mean they were okay if you didn't know any better, but they weren't as nice as the older pre 2000 GT frames/bikes.

I bought an avalanche and it didnt have the ® symbol if that helps. Fairly certain of the provenance of that bike.
