back in the summer of 1992 I decided to buy myself a GT Avalanche, I was 17 and my Emmelle Cortina was just not up to the job.
fast forward to earlier this year and whilst in the for sale forum/ebay plug I found this frame, forks, and stem. I just had to reacquaint myself and build a GT like my original.
I dug out my front canti hanger out of my spares box, and called my old Uni mate Neil to check he had my old wheels which I had taken off my original GT BITD. He did and I bought them back.
I took the bike out in Grizedale for the 3 man RetroBike ride and apart from the constant pinch flats it rode really well (see Paul's snap below).
