to alert ebay that there might be some funny business going on ? he might get a £10 ebay voucher for his anger

Could be a multitude of things. The seller (for some inexplicable reason) may have decided to block any further bids from you, but instead of cancelling them, they have gone for the greedy option to bump the price up.

I could understand them blocking your bids if they were in another country and were reluctant to ship, but it sounds like they were reluctant at all, so again I can't understand.

Might just have to be one of those things (or gremlins) you have to forget about (shame if it's something you were desperate for) except for a rant at the bay........

i think sellers can block specific users, but surely (if he can) he would only do that if you had bad dealings with him in the past etc. :roll: :?

seller has sent me his e mail addy and said he may have something for me if i still want one.

might just buy a new one for £220 to be honest.
